News: Blueprint for future of county transport

By

The Yorkshire Post report on the major projects under plans for the long-term future of South Yorkshire's transport network. The South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive are set to submit plans for Department for Transport funding that will bring wider economic benefits rather than just reducing journey times for passengers. The paper believes that being able to place each scheme in the context of the long-term masterplan will help to justify individual requests for funding. The proposed Bus Rapid Transport system between Rotherham and Sheffield is expected to be put forward with another early priority likely to be Centenary Way, a major route into Rotherham.
