News: Exciting times for u-xplore
u-xplore, the Rotherham educational software company is celebrating its first birthday and looking forward to further success.
Developed through Investors in Education, part of The Music Factory Entertainment Group, the software business was established as a separate firm last year thanks to the backing of a new investor.
The firm created u-xplore interactive, an innovative software solution which engages with young people through cutting edge media. The software aims to change the perceptions of business amongst students and the technology includes profiles of local businesses and inspiring stories which are used as case studies for different sectors.
Last year, the software was available to more than 100,000 students in secondary schools across South Yorkshire, Lincolnshire, Northumberland, Hull and Ayrshire. Now, it can be found up and down the UK, in Swindon, Kent, Rutland, Warwickshire and Chesire. July saw over 1000 students register over the course of the month.
u-xplore have been filming case studies at Drax power station, Doncaster Prison and fire and police services in the UK. Manchester Airport also commissioned u-xplore to create and interactive product that offers guidance to current and future employees.
Over the past year, the company has formed an exclusive partnership with education software market leader S-cool Ltd for 14-19 education and will be partnering with Prospects to provide careers information, advice and guidance in Barnsley and Rotherham with the possibility of further work across the country.
Andy Pickles, the Chief Executive of u-xplore and potential lead sponsor has also been working up proposals for Maltby Academy, leading Rotherham's Building Schools for the Future programme.
u-xplore are expecting further growth and are set to move into new premises soon.
