News: Bunker 13 at Magna

By

Magna Science Adventure Centre in Rotherham is playing host to another live scare attraction this Halloween, Bunker 13.

Areas of the UK's first science adventure centre have been transformed into a forgotten Cold War facility and live actors, detailed sets, special effects, lighting, sounds and psychological fear will be used to create a unique nightmare world.

It has been designed by the Curious Village design house team at G&G Entertainment, who last year transformed Magna into a genetic modification & research facility.

Gary Crompton, creative director of G&G Entertainment, said: "This year we are taking the terror underground and your fear to new depths. On a larger scale than our previous scare attraction Hybrid-X, Bunker 13 will include more themed locations, pitch black corridors and hideous creatures to hunt you down.

"Magna is not the type of building for your average haunted house and after being invited back for a second year my creative wheels were set in motion. After having done a laboratory theme last year, we used our surroundings for inspiration and military sprung to mind, this has led us to the long lost cold war facility that is Bunker 13."

Matthew Beck, managing director at Magna, added: "We are all very excited to welcome the G&G Entertainment team back for a second year. Last year's attraction was a huge success and has recently been awarded finalist at the White Rose Awards for Best Tourism Experience and was also shortlisted for a "Screamie" a very prestigious award in the scare attraction industry."

Bunker 13 opens to the public at 11am on Friday October 21 and runs until Monday October 31.
