News: CMD awarded Made in Sheffield status

By

Rotherham manufacturing company, CMD Ltd, has been awarded the prestigious Made in Sheffield status for their innovative office products.

Based at Eastwood, the company has a product range offering underfloor power systems, lighting and power busbars, lighting control systems, together with office power, cable management and ergonomic solutions.

CMD can apply as it holds a Sheffield "S" postcode but in order to be awarded the mark, a company must first demonstrate their commitment to producing high-quality products.

CMD's new Air and Motion screen arms have been recognised with the Made in Sheffield mark. Designed, precision engineered and manufactured in the UK, the new flat screen monitor stands are lightweight, streamlined and designed with both practicality and aesthetic appeal in mind.

Established in 1984, the company underwent a management buyout in June 2008 and still strongly believe in the benefits and traditions of British manufacturing. 95% of the parts used in the making of the Air and Motion Arms are sourced in the UK, with 80% sourced locally.

A spokesperson for CMD said: "We're very proud that our product has been awarded Made in Sheffield status, as the mark is synonymous with quality and has been granted to many well respected local companies."

Other Rotherham firms who have been granted permission to use the "Made in Sheffield" mark include Aesseal, Macalloy, Newburgh Engineering, Polymer Techniques, Sizer Pelleting and Trelleborg.
