News: Bluebell Wood open furniture store in Rotherham

By

Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice has taken space at the Hellaby Industrial Estate in Rotherham for its new fund raising venture, a "pre-loved" furniture shop.

The shop opens this week in a spacious unit on Sandbeck Way, Hellaby, and offers a full range of furniture items at competitive prices including electrical items, beds, wardrobes, chests of drawers, tables and chairs.

Based at North Anston, Bluebell Wood provides care and support to families who have a child who has a life limiting condition and is not expected to live into adulthood. It has to raise £3m each year to continue its work, and receives no statutory government funding.

Last year the charity opened a 2,500 sq ft, three-storey unit at 12 Wellgate in Rotherham town centre.

Sarah Champion, chief executive of Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice, said: "We know that good quality furniture items often become available when people move house or empty a property on behalf of a relative. Donating them to us will help fund our work supporting families whose children have a shortened life expectancy.

"The furniture store is an exciting extension of our retail operation, which includes seven very popular shops selling a range of attractive new giftware and high quality second hand goods."

The Bluebell Wood furniture store opening times will be from Tuesday – Saturday, 10am-4.30pm. Donations can be delivered to the store or by ringing Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice on 01909 517360. The store will also accept general goods for sale in the Bluebell Wood shops.
