News: AESSEAL awarded Total package
Award-winning Rotherham manufacturer AESSEAL has secured a "milestone" deal with Total for a five year managed reliability contract for its mechanical seals at Lindsey Oil Refinery in Lincolnshire.
With global headquarters at Templeborough, AESSEAL manufactures seals to stop leakage of harmful liquids and gases into the environment for a wide range of industries, including oil and gas, food, water, mining and pharmaceuticals.
The contract, which was negotiated over a two year period, will include the supply and repair of the mechanicals seals used on over 600 rotating equipment assets.

AESSEAL working closely with the Total Rotating Equipment team and Operations is tasked with improving reliability, and reducing total cost of ownership by extending the mean time between failure on the assets. The contract is seen as a milestone for AESSEAL which reported a sales increase for 2015 despite challenging conditions in the oil and gas sector.
Richard Smith, Oil and Gas industry Director at AESSEAL, said: "We have been working with Total at the Lindsey Oil Refinery for a number of years supplying bearing protection products, our service to Total over this period has been a contributing factor in us being awarded this contract."
Total's production in the UK comes from several operated fields located offshore in three major zones in the North Sea, with equity production of 107,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day in 2015 and expected operated production of 260,000 in 2016. The Lindsey Oil Refinery produces petrol, diesel and other fueld and has a capacity of 11 million tonnes per year.
AESSEAL recently picked up another Queen's Award. The company and its subsidiaries have now won 13 of the awards which are considered the highest official UK awards for British businesses.
The award for Innovation is in recognition of the development of a novel modular approach with standardised components, to deliver a step change in the supply chain for seal support systems.
AES Engineering Ltd, parent to the AESSEAL Group, has reported its annual results for the year to December 31 2015 which showed sales improve slightly by 1% from £141.8m to £142.9m. The company said that if adjusted for currency fluctuations in the year, the organic sales growth would be 3.5%.
