News: Horbury director takes on FPDC president role
The FPDC offers specialist business support designed for companies of all sizes and represents contractor members' interests collectively to help them to achieve a competitive industry advantages.
Gavin's role will include promoting best practice, excellence and professionalism in plastering, drylining and associated trades, ensuring that member companies are recognised as more than a commodity in the construction field.
Gavin, who has 20 years experience in the industry, said: "I am very much looking forward to taking on the challenges that this position will offer and it is an honour for both me and the company.
"The purpose of the federation is to act as the collective voice of the industry, representing the interests of the sector through a wide range of topics including training, which is vital to ensure we establish a highly skilled workforce."
Horbury Building Systems, part of the Horbury Group, is one of the UK's largest drywall contractors. The company is based at the £5.5 million Grade A office building, South Grove House, in the Moorgate area of Rotherham.
Horbury Building Systems recently won the PDC Plaisterers Trophy in the Drylining Contract Over £1 million category, their third award in as many years.
