News: Stafforce refocuses its operations to meet market demands

By

Rotherham's fast growing national specialist recruiter, Stafforce, has consolidated its brands and refocused its strategy to enable the company to offer businesses a clear route to greater productivity, efficiency and success.

In response to market demands, Stafforce now offers an extended range of added-value services to clients through its Stafforce Recruitment and Nicholas Associates brands.

Ian Anderson, chief executive of Stafforce (pictured), said: "We have expanded our range of services extensively over the past 35 years, from being a traditional recruiter to offering a full range of dedicated business improvement services. By combining the strengths across our team and refocusing our efforts, we are in a really strong position to help businesses to maximise their productivity, reduce their overheads and create more efficient and sustainable businesses for the future."

Established in 1977 by local entrepreneur, now chairman, Nick Cragg, Stafforce employs 155 staff nationwide. Over 50 employees work at four sites in South Yorkshire - head office on Percy Street in Rotherham town centre, Sheffield Business Park, Barnsley Business and Innovation Centre and in Doncaster.

In 2010, a partial management buyout, led by Anderson and Bruce Allen, finance director at Stafforce, saw the senior management team take ownership of 15% of the share holding of the business. Since then, the group has grown through a number of acquisitions. TEK Personnel and Action 4 Business have been integrated within Nicholas Associates and Relay Recruitment, based in Bradford and Leeds, has become Stafforce Recruitment.

Anderson, added: "The tougher, highly competitive economic climate, combined with rising commodity costs, means that businesses are looking for ways to become more productive, sustainable and efficient. Our focus is on being able to offer a range of added-value services to help businesses evolve and stay ahead of the game. The specialist skills we have in each area mean we are well equipped to be able to do this, which will lead to improved efficiency and ultimately drive forward the growth of our clients' businesses."

The Stafforce family of businesses offers permanent and temporary recruitment, learning and talent development, lean and organisational development, robotics and automation, through to software solutions.

As part of offering this added value service, the company is investing heavily in developing its own people, after launching the Stafforce Academy in the latter part of 2012. All employees are part of the Academy, which includes its own in-house qualification called "License to Operate", a Management Development Programme, called "the Climb" and "Share and Learn" sessions covering a number of key areas, in a bid to raise standards right across the business.

Ian Anderson continues: "We have made a long term commitment to our staff to invest in their skills, develop their expertise even further, with the ultimate beneficiaries being our customers. We are excited about what this will mean in terms of evolving our added-value services even further in the future."
