News: NAMTEC contract for Wharncliffe

By

Barnsley-based IT specialists Wharncliffe Business Systems has won a contract to work with the country's National Metals Technology Centre in Rotherham to upgrade their IT system.

The National Metals Technology Centre (NAMTEC) realised they needed to upgrade their IT systems and contacted three separate companies.

Mike Strobin, Chief Financial Officer at NAMTEC said: "Wharncliffe were chosen as our preferred supplier because of their geographical location and also because they supplied realistic pricing in their proposal.

"The other suppliers submitted tenders at full price and only wanted to negotiate downwards in the event of a tied tender - Wharncliffe seemed the more ethical provider."

Wharncliffe are providing NAMTEC with Sage 200, an IT package incorporating Financials and CRM (Client Relationship Management) that will enable the NAMTEC team to deliver better reporting analysis and improve their internal processes.

As part of their sales and implementation process Wharncliffe met with the Namtec team to learn more about the business, their IT requirements and suitability for the system.

Alan Exley, Director at Wharncliffe added: "Clients tell us they appreciate our honest and transparent approach to pricing. It's great to be working with NAMTEC. South Yorkshire is steeped in metallurgical history and if our technology and the technical expertise of our staff can help NAMTEC to continue its work in supporting organisations on a national basis then I am very pleased."
